Daily Prayer

“And the Maid ruled over all the world, making the earth grow fruitful and attending to the prayers of Her creatures, and oftentimes making prayers of Her own that they might come closer to the Mother.”

The Clear Recital (NCUV) – 1:6:6

Prayer is a way we may come closer to Our Beloved Mother and Her Holy Daughter. Frequent prayer builds a connection between the Divine and maid, and allows us to truly talk to Her.

Procedure for daily prayer is thus:

If you have an altar, stand or sit before it. If you do not, face the East. Make the sign of the Pentacle1 upon yourself and reverence2 the altar or the East. Begin with the Silver Star prayer:

“Silver Star of the waters that have laughed all the world into being, beyond all knowing is the splendour of Your light. Enfold my spirit in Your mighty hand that the pure stream of Your force may flow within me in this world and in all the worlds to come.”

If it is the morning/you are rising, say the morning prayer:

Celestial Mother, grant me this day that every work I do shall be as lovingly and well performed as though I were to give it into Your divine hands. Fill me with Your energy, that I may both give beauty to the world and perceive the beautiful in all of Your creation.

Grant that this day shall add a stone to the temple of my soul.”

If it is the evening/you are retiring, say the evening prayer:

Mother, to Whom all the thousands of the days are as one, and yet Who knowest more of the small events of my past day than I; receive my spirit at the ending of the day, and protect her through the night.

Of course, these are suggestions, and if one wishes to speak from the heart instead of these prayers, that is also more than sufficient.

1 The sign of the Pentacle can be made in two different ways: first, with three fingers, touching the forehead, left hip, right shoulder, left shoulder, right hip, and back to the forehead, visualizing a silver light connecting each point. The second way is performing similar motions but over the heart.

2 Reverencing refers to the gesture of pressing the palms and fingers together, holding them to the heart, and giving a slight bow. This was often used by Madrians as a greeting, and a sign of respect.
